A report about our trip to Grittleton

7. Klassen in Grittleton (Südengland) 4/16author: class 7a (Englisch 2. Fremdsprache)

In this report we want to tell you something about our trip to the south of England this year.

On the one hand, we want to write about boring things. Yes, there were also boring things, but not so many. The boring things we did were walking and waiting for the bus. After we have walked for lots of hours, our feet hurt, for example we walked in London for eight hours, and waiting for the bus was even more boring.

On the other hand, the other things we did and experienced were very exciting and great!

First we want to tell you something about typical British things, they only exist in Great Britain or are things Great Britain is famous for, e.g. fish and chips, red telephone boxes or double busses. Once we had fish and chips for dinner in our hostel and it tasted great! And we saw red telephone boxes in every place we were, e.g. Oxford or Lacock, the most beautiful village in the south of England. Most of us took a lot of photos from these telephone boxes. And we squeezed in them, too. We also saw some red double busses in London. Today they are used for tourists only. What a pity!

And we tasted a lot of English food. We think it is very good and very special. For some people it tastes good, but for some bad. In England, there is lots of food that is special for this country, for example "flapjack". It is made with sugar, syrup, butter and oats and it is simply delicious. Another typical food is "Cornish pasties", a kind of pie filled with meat and vegetables we could buy in Bath or at the café at Stonehenge. So we didn´t only eat fast food ;-).

And London was just great! We think it was the best place of this trip. We were there for nine hours and we walked a lot. We saw interesting buildings and places like Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, we heard Big Ben, we were shopping in Oxford Street and we took a ride with the London Eye. We had a very nice time in London, it is a beautiful city.

This was our report about our great trip to Grittleton. Clapping, please ;-).
