Our Trip to Grittleton and the UK in 2018

On Sunday the 8th April 2018 our class trip to England started. At 5 o'clock our busses left Pirmasens. The bus ride was very long and after a full day of driving we arrived at Grittleton House around 9:30 pm. We then got to our rooms, which were big and pretty. At 10:30, everyone went to bed.

On Monday breakfast started at 8 o'clock. After breakfast we went to the bus and we (the classes 7a and 7b) drove to Bath. The other two classes were in Oxford on Monday and we simply switched activities on Tuesday.

First, we had a great guided city tour. We saw the circus and some other interesting things like the Pulteney Bridge or the Bath Assembly Rooms. After the city tour we had some free time to see more of the city and go shopping. I went to Ben's cookies and Shakeaway - it was delicious. At 3 pm we all went to the famous Roman Baths together. It was interesting to see the history of Bath. At 5 pm we went back to Grittleton for dinner. Burgers were on the menu today.
On Tuesday we went to Oxford. Our excellent city guide was led by Mr. Gutmann. It was interesting and funny at the same time. We saw the Covered Markets and learned about the history of Oxford. We also went to the University of Oxford. That's one of many locations were Harry Potter was filmed and the old buildings looked very nice. After a day full of sights, we drove back to Grittleton for dinner at 5 pm. We had pasta with sausages. In the evening we had a little party without the teachers.

Our activities for Wednesday were a tour of Stonehenge and a cricket lesson. Unfortunately, it was cold and wet outside and cricket was not so interesting for me. I liked the day trips better. However, many pupils liked the sports. At dinner we had a traditional curry. I think that was the best of the three dinners! In the evening we played a funny game named "the quest". After the game, Mr. Dengel hosted a party for all the students. It was great.

On Thursday we went to London, our last city to see. We went to Piccadilly Circus, the Buckingham Palace and the London Eye. I think the view from the London Eye was beautiful. At 4 pm we drove back home to Pirmasens. For me the highlight was Bath and I want to see this city again. I think you can't improve anything. The food and the lunchboxes were good. Now, after the class trip, I think I have a better connection to the teachers and they are not as strict as everyone thought after all.
